I got brave and used your suggestion for the round bale idea.  It is working VERY well!!  I am happy that it does not seem to tangle or be a hazard as they eat the hay down.  
I put two athletic "nets" together (each one is 10' X 15' which made a total of 20'X 15' haynet)....laid a third of the hay net on the pallet...placed the hay bale (this is a 1500 lb. Bale about 5' high) and then just folded the rest of the netting over the round bale and tied the end ropes around the bottom of the bale.  I did have to go and "cinch" up the rope at the very end of the last bale because they figured out they could "lift" it up on the edges.  But, other than that, it was no problem at all.  I love it!
As soon as I get a 20' pasture built to the end of the front pasture, I will be able to use the covered hay area for another round bale.
What a time saver!  The horses use it as a merry-go-round...constantly moving each other around it.
The haynet was an investment of about $200, but it will pay for itself fairly quickly in the fact that I can now buy $65 round bale that will last 10 days instead of 3 square bales every day for $7/bale.  For ten days I was spending $210 on square bales.  So...the whole thing is a no brainer!

Jag tog mod till mig för att få till en rundbalslösning.
Det fungerar jätte bra!!! Jag är glad att det inte traslar eller medför några risker ens när balen blir mindre.
Jag satte ihop två idrottsnät (2st 3m x 4,5m = 6m x 4,5m), lade ett tredje nät på lastpallen och ställde dit balen (den här balen väger 700kg och är 150cm hög) och vek ihop näten runt botten på balen. Jag blev tvungen att sträcka upp nätet på den senaste balen då hästarna hade upptäkt hur dom kunde komma in under. Bortsett från det har det inte varit några problem. Jag älskar den!
Så snart jag har utökat hagen kommer jag att kunna använda den täkta delen av höförvaringen för ännu en rundbal.
Vilken fantastisk tidsbesparing! Hästarna använder den som karusell och driver varandra runt runt hela tiden.
Hönäten kostade 1500kr men det har snart tjänat in sig själva eftersom en rundbal kostar ca 500kr och räcker i 10 dagar i stället för 3 småbalar a' 50kr varje dag (1500kr/10 dagar).
