| This is my first try with a hay feeder for a whole round bale and it did not work well enough. | |
| Every now and then it work perfectly but the problem was to ajust the pressure from behind. If the pressure was to low the bale would not move and the horses would eat what was there and not getting anything more. If the pressure was to great it would press to hard against the grid and make it impossible to pull the hay out through the holes. | |
| I used bucket filled with gravel to pull the cloth up and push the hay against the grid. The thought was probably great because it would let me ajust the weight but the problem was that it needed different weight when it was full and when it was light. | |
| This feeder was made to automatically roll the bale out to the grid. The problem was that it wasn't foolproof and that is not good enough. | |
| The hanging divider was, however, a good idea. Some horses wants more privacy when they are eating (about 4 feet) and when the divider was hanging like this they did not use it for scratching. | |
